Peter Jong has been in the financial service industry since 2003. He began his career at Freedom 55 Financial as a Financial Advisor. After a year and half, Peter was promoted to Director of Advisor Development, and later to Director of Business Development where he led a team of 12 financial advisors. In 2007, Peter and his business partner started a new Desjardins Financial Security Independent Network branch in Victoria.

Peter's accreditation includes a Bachelor's degree in Science, and a Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Victoria. He has also obtained the Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP) and the Canadian Investment Manager designation (CIM). His education provides a valuable foundation, which allows Peter to evaluate the complete current and future financial needs of individuals, businesses, and corporations.

Attention to detail, accuracy under pressure, and conservative behaviour in complex situations are hallmarks of his current popularity with clients in the practice. He is supported by a team of administrators and of technical and underwriting specialists. This group's teamwork and results are setting new standards of service excellence in building lifetime relationships with their expanding client base.

Peter is passionate about listening to problems before prescribing solutions. He then repositions his clients’ family balance sheets in order to speed up the wealth creation process. His focus is on high-wealth families, small business owners and professionals. Future plans which currently excite his office include using technology more robustly in order to deliver superior client research and customizing communication to ensure maximum satisfaction as family and business needs evolve in the years ahead.

Peter is happily married to his wife Lauren, a French Immersion elementary school teacher at Sir James Douglas Elementary School. Away from the business, he enjoys time working on his golf handicap and time with his family.

Peter and his team work together to consolidate his clients’ family assets into one balanced program and to improve asset accumulation with fewer risks along the way. His team creates customized strategies that maximize assets across various financial instruments, achieving greater leverage on wealth creation. The result is that his clients are more likely to spend their golden years watching their grandchildren grow up rather than nervously checking bank balances or the stock market. This allows them to achieve their financial dreams on time, while eliminating unforeseen risk along the journey.
